The simple reason I’m writing these blogs

I love to use different and engaging media to enliven communication

Collision with an inspirational madman, philosopher and branding guru

Lockdown forced us to use video conferencing as a primary tool of communication.

Every video call is a mini presentation. But do you have engaging calls or are they incredibly dull?

It’s autumn 2020 and I am drinking with a client, Finn, at the Bikeshed in Shoreditch. A whirl of green and silver swirls wooshed by our table.

“That’s Steve Edge.” Finn said. “He has his own branding agency and he’s quite a character.”

Quite a character is an understatement. Silver blond hair, black thick rimmed glasses, a sparkle in his eye and dressed to kill in green. Impeccable white brogues finished the dapper look.

Steve Edge showed me how a video call can be engaging and memorable.

Later I contacted Steve to discuss help with the branding of Mulberry Risk, the company I founded and still run as CEO.

The magnificent Steve Edge

We set up a video call. To this day, that is the most impressive sales meeting I’ve ever had.

Steve engaged with stories, energy and authenticity. To get a taste of what Steve is like here is a link to his TedX talk https://youtu.be/Ck-V0fg8rjA.

When the call finished, I was spellbound. I wanted more. I knew Steve would be expensive, but what could I get for our budget?

I also felt a need to create that same awe in my prospects.

So many questions and searching for answers

Since that video meeting with Steve, I’ve been on a quest to become the greatest presenter I can be. In any medium, whether that be video, stage, 1-1 meeting or even Tiktok.

This website is created to share what I’ve learnt in the past and what I have ahead of me.

I’ll share the books, videos and tricks which are helping me to develop into a memorable presenter.
